SLPNA Asks for Cap on Cannabis Permits Until City Studies Full Impact
Cannabis Delivery Business Proposed for 6260 Belleau Wood Lane commercial park
On March 21, 2018, the membership of SLPNA voted to ratify the Board's decision to ask the City to study the impacts of cannabis on neighborhoods. The following letter details SLPNA's concerns about undue concentration of these businesses, among other issues.
On May 3, 2018, Golf Course Terrace Estates Neighborhood Association submitted a letter supporting SLPNA's demand for a moratorium on cannabis related permits in the Freeport Blvd/Blair/Belleau Wood commercial corridor.

Application for Marijuana Cultivation on Freeport Blvd. in S. Land Park
An application has been submitted to convert a vacant school at 6400 Freeport Blvd into a marijuana cultivation operation.

SLPNA has studied the issue and has heard from our membership and businesses. We are concerned that the commercial area next to Freeport Blvd might become a hub for marijuana businesses, and cause commercial rents to rise. In turn, the small business tenants in the area may have no option but to move out, and we will lose many great local businesses and services.
